It all started when…

Friends asked me to keep a community together outside of yoga. Here it is…
Book Club- both Virtual and in my home. I’ve picked a few books that…. well, I think will inspire others. We’ll read, discuss, laugh, unite in friendship and conversation. Whether we learn something or we realize this book is not for us, we will learn and will listen together as we explore the inspiration of reading through the eyes of others.

Knitting Club

“Finding a way to build friendships while building something with our hands and hearts”- anne

Lead by Laura Hunt laurahunt150@gmail.com - our knitting guru- Welcoming beginners, newcomers and experienced knitters to this fun group! We will be knitting virtually until COVID allows us to get together in person and this January 2022- we will have BOTH in person and virtual for those who would like to stay at home!. Knitting for a personal goal AND a group project to give to someone in need. The group will meet the second Tuesday of ever month beginning with our first meeting in January First meeting will be to discuss needles, yarn, thickness, stitches and where each one of us want to begin. From there the creativity is the limit! It’s FREE to join, all you’ll need to buy is your own knitting needles, yarn and possible pattern if needed. Laura will be teaching us new stitches each month and helping us with trouble shooting our projects. Second Tuesday of every month!! Join us and learn to knit or come back to the basics of knitting together with friends and family- our yoga family! Finding ways to stay connected during difficult times, one stitch at a time. Hope to see you soon! Anne

Quilting Club

“Time to make some memories- with the help of recycling our old worn out favorites” - anne

Hand sewing pieces of fabric with a needle, thread and slip stitch brings another form or mediation to our mix. I’ve been making T- shirt quilts for my kids and family for years. I have kept many pieces of clothing that were meaningful to my children and family. Cutting the well worn items into squares or shapes that fit a quilt size of your liking is a keep sake of all your favorite memories.

I have thread to share, fabric to make and practice with in a making quilt and sharing the camaraderie of friendships with stories. Catching up. Sharing the weather. Sharing recipes. Laughing while being productive and using our fine motor skills to keep us healthy is just another reason to come join our quilting group.

Thursdays 4:30pm once a month at my home or a volunteer home who has a bigger flat area to lay down many pieces of fabric to sew- would be awesome!!! The last Thursday of the month Beginning in November! Let me know if your interested and start collecting your well worn memory t- shirts. Its quilt making time!

Grab a friend and bring your fabric, needles, scissors, a glass of wine and a snack to share while we sew our stories into our warm blankets ready for the winter or possibly for a Christmas gift.

A baby blanket, a throw for the end of your bed, a cuddle blanket for your reading chair( we have book club too).

Once you begin looking for your old T- shirts, or favorite nightgowns, baby things, you will be amazed with what you will find! I have things sating back 30-40 years that I have saved and collected and moved from house to house and here they are ready to build my memory blanket.

The last Thursday of the month beginning in November! Another free fun program of getting together - reminder we have with book club, knitting club already in existence and now quilting club! Join us!
